I guess it’s time we just embrace these sub-arctic temperatures we’ve been experiencing. If they’re not gone by now, I don’t know if they’ll ever take off.
That said, there’s a great opportunity to make the best of the cold this weekend when Winterfest 2014 takes place around the city. The free event is being held in coordination between a number of community venues, and the activities are all family-friendly.
From tobogganing and skating to more intensive events like snowman building competitions and ski races, the popular event promises to be a big hit. Bundle up though, Sunday’s high of -6 is due to feel like -13. That’ll feel even colder flying down the hills at top speeds!
For a full list of the events, check out the City of Guelph’s website to make sure you don’t miss a thing!
The City Hall skating rink has been busy night in and night out, but if you need to get some practice in before the weekend, drop downtown for a few laps of the rink and warm up in one of the core’s great cafes!
Hope to see you out and about!
